Valentines Day is SO soon and I’m celebrating with all the healthy sweet treats, and this new creation is one for the books.


Lately I’ve been vibing SO hard with smoothies post workout, but in order to have them fill me up enough I pack them FULL of fruits, veggies, protein and healthy fats.

I used to make the same dang smoothie every. single. time. SO I knew it was time to switch it up. This combo is the perfect mix of fruity and chocolatey goodness to satisfy my sweet tooth, while also fueling my body to the best of my ability.

Another reason to switch up your meals? By eating the same things every day, you can actually cause your body to grow intolerant to those foods! YIKES. I found this out a little while ago, and have been making it a point to switch up my meals more often than I used to. I still love my favorite go-to’s, but how tragic would it be if I couldn’t eat them anymore?!

Personally I crave sweet breakfasts every day, so I honor my body and give it what it’s telling me it wants. 

I touched on something briefly in an Instagram post earlier this week, but I want to touch on it again. SO many of my blogger friends eat a paleo diet or are trying Whole30 and I think it’s AMAZING that they’re doing what makes them feel their best, but I’ve finally come to a place where I no longer compare myself to others. This time last year I would have been trying to fit into these molds simply because other bloggers and foodies were eating these particular ways.

I’ve finally come to embrace what my body needs, even if it’s different than those around me. For me personally, I know my body desperately needs grains to stay at a healthy weight and my tastebuds need something sweet (but obvi healthy) in the morning to make my soul happy.

It’s so exhilarating and and freeing to simply do what’s best for you. My Valentine’s Day self-love challenge to you is to focus inwards, listen to your body, honor your cravings and stop the comparison game that we all are so easily caught up in.

Chocolate Strawberry (cauliflower?!) Smoothie

The perfect smoothie to kick that (healthy) sweet tooth AND pack in some sneaky veg!


7-10 frozen strawberries

1/2 cup frozen cauliflower rice

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 Tbsp almond butter

1 Tbsp raw cacao nibs

1 Tbsp raw cacao powder

1 scoop chocolate plant-based protein powder

unsweetened coconut flakes and raw cacao nibs (optional toppings)


  1. Place the frozen strawberries, frozen cauliflower rice and almond milk in the blender (feel free to change the amount of liquid you add - I love my smoothies super thick!) and blend until smooth.

  2. Add in the almond butter, cacao nibs, cacao powder and protein powder and blend.

  3. Pour, top, sip and enjoy!
