Introducing the new IBD HealthLine App
Have you ever felt alone and isolated due to having IBD?
I know I sure have. It’s difficult being 23 and going through something you feel like no one else your age understands. It’s difficult feeling like nobody gets you.
That’s why I do what I do here on Plenty and Well. That’s why I talk so openly about my own experiences with IBD on Instagram. That’s why I love working with clients who also have IBD.
But, what if you could connect with a network of other individuals just like you going through things just like you are outside of my community? People that get it, get IBD, get the hardships, get the growth that comes from it all.
Well …. Drumroll please… I’m SO excited to announce the launch of the new IBD Healthline app!!! I will be partnering with HealthLine over the next four weeks to kick start the IBD Healthline app, share about it with ya’ll and host LIVE CHATS in the app that all of you can be a part of!
This IBD Healthline app is the place to connect with fellow IBD warriors, find people your age that get what you’re going through, ask for advice, find new suggestions about
So how does it work? It’s easy! You create a profile with your age, general location, year of diagnosis, form of IBD and some other fun things about you. You can then start finding and connecting with similar IBD warriors and start feeling less alone.
There are also discussion boards within the app to help you get advice, discuss specific topics and learn from each other on all different types IBD-related topics – nutrition, alternative medicine, relationships, career, etc. You can either post to a specific section or just post in general and start seeing the feedback and support flood in.
And like I mentioned, there will be LIVE chats in the app throughout the week! Someone will post a specific question and for about an hour everyone can chime in, ask further questions and learn from each other in real time.
There is also a “discover” tab that has all of HealthLine’s IBD-related articles, studies and research to explore and learn from. Truly, this app is like a one-stop-shop to helping you through your journey with IBD. Discussion, education, connection – the three pillars of a healing journey.
Discussion – discussing helps break the stigma around chronic illness. It also shows you that others are going through the same thing as you!
Education – learning about your illness helps you better understand what’s going on in your body and allows you to make better, more informed decisions about your care. It also gives you HOPE by seeing all of the emerging research on new medications and possible cures on the horizon.
Connection - I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again – I think one of the MOST important aspects of any healing journey is the support you have from those around you. Having people in your network that can relate to you on a personal level gets rid of the loneliness and fear that comes along with chronic illness. I’ve been so lucky to find such connections through Instagram and blogging, but I realize that not everyone has that opportunity. I forget that not everyone shares openly about having IBD on their social media channels and not everyone makes friends through Instagram like us bloggers do. With HealthLine’s new app you can easily find these connections in a safe, secure space.
If you have IBD, join me in the app to discuss, educate and connect. Download the free app here!
And join me for my TWO LIVE CHATS on May 26th and June 19th!
